In 2019, the African Scientific, Research and Innovation Council (ASRIC) and Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF) prestigious institutions entered into a strategic partnership for Capacity Building for Africa’s youths and to enhance research and innovation for Africa’s development. Considering the comparative advantage and the common mandate of ASRIC and UEMF “building Africa’s technical competences” the two institutions decided to engage on a long-term scientific collaboration and as of that the UEMF offered Scholarship for African Ph.D. students to undertake studies and research work at UEMF.

Research Commission (AU-STRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2019. One of the aspects of the partnership is AU-STRC – ICMR Capacity Building Programme.
ICMR/AU-STRC Health Practitioners and Researchers Capacity Building Scheme are designed to build the capacity of African health practitioners and researchers over a period of 3 years. The Capacity Building focus areas are: Medical Research, Life Science and Biotechnology. Eligibility to the capacity building programme is that the Applicants must be a national of one of the African Union Member States and resides in Africa at the time of Application and commencement of the training and he/she should be working in Health Research centers or Health Facilities within Africa
