2026 program objective
The AI Compute Faculty Development Plan is a focused initiative to build sustainable AI teaching capacity across Africa by 2026. Through the joint efforts of the African Union–African Scientific Research and Innovation Council (AU–ASRIC), the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI), and Peking University, the program aims to enable and empower a group of faculty members from leading African universities to gain advanced expertise in AI compute and systems. By cultivating professors as seed teachers in AI education, the program invites accomplished university faculty to access cutting-edge knowledge in next-generation AI computing systems and to initiate structured AI education and hands-on student training programs across African countries—laying the foundation for the next generation of African AI talent.
About the Initiative
Our goal is to enable teachers from top universities in over 10 African countries to deliver high-quality AI education, with a focus on practical skills, cross-cultural collaboration, and alignment with global standards. By participating, you will help lay the groundwork for sustainable AI ecosystems in your institutions and across the continent. The program will recruit 10 professors in the first half of 2026. Applications are currently open. FOR MORE INFORMATION CLICK:
